Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs: Common questions about neurodiversity and our charity

Do I/my young person need to be diagnosed to attend the club? No; a formal diagnosis is not needed to come along to club. Getting an assessment and diagnosis can take a long time, and it's often during this time that we need the most support as we know we are different but don't always understand why; and that can be hard to deal with on your own or when you're not around others that are different in the same way

Are the staff and volunteers Neurodivergent? Yes; everyone who works for us or volunteers for us are Neurodivergent and have life experience of mental health difficulties. In order for our members to feel comfortable and safe enough to open up and be themselves and to build that trusting relationship, it's important that the staff and volunteers have first hand knowledge, understanding, and experience of being neurodivergent with mental health difficulties.

How much does attending the club cost? The club is completely free to attend. We want to be accessible, regardless of your financial position

Is the club wheelchair accessible? We are currently hosting our club at St Marks Church; the communal area that we use is wheelchair accessible, but it does not have a disabled toilet on site, and the toilet is quite difficult to access with a wheelchair.

What activities are available? We have a wide range of arts and crafts activities available; if there is a particular activity that you would like to try or do, speak to our staff and if we have it, they will get it out for you. You are also welcome to bring any activity that you would like to do with you.
